Pope Francis remembers the Holodomor

Dear brothers and sisters,

yesterday Ukraine commemorated the anniversary of the Holodomor, a terrible famine instigated by the Soviet regime, which caused millions to die. The image is distresful. The terrible wound of the past is an appeal for all people to ensure that these tragedies never happen again. Let us pray for that dear country and for the long sought after peace.
