The Holy Father’s Special Envoy, Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher, has arrived in Ukraine.
Archbishop Paul Richard Gallagher began his first day in Ukraine with prayer. Together with the Apostolic Nuncio to Ukraine, Archbishop Visvaldas Kulbokas, and the Metropolitan Archbishop of Lviv, Mieczysław Mokrzycki, he celebrated Holy Mass and offered prayers for Ukraine, for an end to the war, and for a just peace for the Ukrainian people. Afterwards, he met with representatives of the local authorities.
Archbishop Gallagher has come to Ukraine as the Papal Envoy to participate in the celebrations marking the 35th anniversary of the restoration of the structures of the Latin Rite Catholic Church. The celebrations will take place on Sunday, 19 July 2026, at the Shrine of Our Lady of Mount Carmel in Berdychiv.
